As from August 24, 2022, foreign students who have obtained X1 visa or hold a valid residence permit for study in China can enter China.

The relevant requirements for an visa are as follows:

1.At this stage, the Embassy only accepts applications from students who come to China for long-term academic education (X1 visa). Applications for short-term study are temporarily not accepted (X2 visa).

2.Log on the website: https://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn and fill in visa application form online for X1 visa.

3.Log on the website: https://avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn to make an appointment.

4. Bring the following materials to the embassy in person:

1).“AVAS Confirmation”“Confirmation of Online Visa Application”“Visa Application Form of the People′s Republic of China”

2). Original and photocopy of passport.

3). Two recent passport photos.

4). The original and photocopy of the "Visa Application Form for Studying in China" (JW201 or JW202 form).

5). Admission letter (for freshmen) or return certificate (for current students) issued by a school in China.

6). Invitation letter issued by Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (only for foreign trainees).
